The team at Timber Kids Dentistry has a new face in the office! Please help us welcome Dr. Lisa Austin to the team. As an Oregonian born and raised, Dr. Austin is excited to serve patients in Bend, OR as the newest orthodontist! She'd love to get to know your child at their next appointment, but here are a few things she wanted to share.
Meet Dr. Lisa Austin
Q: Why did you decide to become a dentist?
A: After a career day my junior year of high school. The dentists talked about how nice it was to be in a profession that both helped people and was flexible with their schedules.
Q: Did you have a favorite dentist when you were a kid?
A: My own dentist, Dr. Pike, in Portland. I always enjoyed going to his office; they made it welcoming and fun.
Q: If you could be a tooth, which one would you be?
A: I don’t know, but it would be important for me to be in line with the others. :)
Q: What is your favorite flavor of toothpaste?
A: Colgate is my favorite brand.
Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
A: Having just moved to Bend, I would say this is pretty perfect. Santa Barbara and the Mediterranean are other favorites, maybe in retirement!
Q: If you could be the dentist to any famous person, who would it be?
A: Kiera Knightly or Kirsten Dunst. When I see their teeth, I think about how big of a difference it would make if they were straight!
Q: Do you have a favorite childhood toy?
A: I really liked stuffed animals; a big bear named Sarah was my favorite.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Beaverton, OR
Q: Mountains or beaches?
A: Beaches! Mountains are nice too, but water always wins for me.
